Prague, nicknamed the city of thousand spires, is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. One that attracts millions of tourists each year, most of which enter the city through the Prague airport. Getting from Prague Airport to City Centre is possible via bus, taxi, or welcome pickups.
Catching the airport bus is the cheapest and most obvious option. The ticket costs just 32 CZK (1.20€). However, the bus doesn’t go all the way to the city center and the ride will take an hour. If it’s during rush hour time, maybe even more than that. Plus, it doesn’t run 24/7. Meaning if you have a late flight, you arrive after 23.30, the next one is scheduled for 4:15 in the morning. That’s more than 5 hours of waiting, something that no one likes to do.
Then there are the airport taxis that are there 24/7. Taxi from the airport to the city center will cost you approximately 27€. Getting from the airport to the city center will take you around 35 minutes.
The last, but not the least important alternative is welcome pickups. This is a transport startup company that allows online booking. Their rates are pretty much identical to those of local taxis. In addition to that, they offer an English speaking driver that will pick you up from your exit, super clean vehicle, and your driver will be there even if your flight is late. The online booking process is pretty simple and straightforward and you can also book one from the city to the airport as well. The driver will not only drive you to the city but can also provide tips and bits of advice on how to get around, what’s fun to do, how are the locals, and things like that.
